Rules and Restrictions
In such a community the individual can only live well and happily with rules which everybody complies to.
Matches, weapons, guns, any kind of lighters, Stanley knives and any other objects which can cause damage, such as explosives etc. are forbidden due to obvious reasons. Fire prevention rules mean that any kind of electrical equipment which requires to be connected to the lighting circuit, especially immersion coils and heaters, is forbidden (exceptions are bedside lights, table lamps, electric shavers and hairdriers.)
Inferior literature is forbidden. Possessing a motorized vehicle is prohibited, as is the steering of a motorized vehicle in the grounds of the boarding school.
The consumption of alcohol is also forbidden at Burg Nordeck. Violations of these rules can lead to immediate expulsion, if need be. We ask that children are not given tobacco or alcohol during school visits. Pupils who are 16 years old or above may be allowed to smoke within the school in designated times and places set by the school, on producing written consent from their parents. This permission can be revoked by the teaching staff due to violations against the "Smoker's rules" or for disciplinary reasons. After a period of time staying at Burg Nordeck the following things are allowed with special permission:
1. Bicycles:
The owner must become a member of the bike club and comply with all obligations relating to it. If they fail to do this or for example their bike is in an illegal condition or they violate the road traffic regulations, the bike will be given back to the parents.
2. Stamp or any other collections.
