An active, mutual exchanging of letters between parents and children is desirable. By doing this the contact with the parental home is encouraged and maintained. In addition, the pupils learn to communicate their experiences in written form through which the parents can take part in the experiences of their children.
We ask parents (and relatives) in the strongest terms to refrain from sending food to the children, as the catering at the boarding school is adequate and good.(Exception: for a birthday party for the 'family'.) Over and above the three main meals, the children receive two snacks (long interval in the morning and at 4 pm).
We ask telephone calls to the boarding school to be made, if possible, during office hours (weekdays from 8 am till 5 pm). Parents, who urgently have to speak to their children personally, are asked to phone the office by 12.15 pm, so that an appointment (outwith the lessons) can be made. On Saturdays and Sundays a telephone call can not be arranged.
