Financial Matters

As a free school our boarding school has a charitable status. That guarantees that all proceeds go towards covering the costs and realizing our educational goals.

money Expenses, which the school has to make for the pupils are partly settled in the quarterly accounting statement and partly financed by the money parents have to give the head of the family in advance according to clause 8b in the contract of admission.

Pupils can obtain textbooks, jotters etc. from our 'commercial club'. This club is run by our economics manager. The parents receive a seperate bill at the end of each quarter.

Free provision of schoolbooks and equipment:
Pupils from Hessen, Bremen, Bavaria, Schleswig-Holstein, North Rhine-Westphalia, Berlin and Hamburg can enjoy the free provision of schoolbooks and equipment laid down by law. Parents are liable for damages to and loss of the equipment (textbooks) which Hessian state has put at our disposal.

Laundry:
Every piece of laundry must have a name on it. Some pupils send their laundry home every time. The washing can also regularly be handed into the laundry. There is a monthly charge of 15.50 Euros (without the months of July and August). Ironing and small repairs, for example darning socks or sewing on buttons, are included in this charge.

Pocket Money:
The pocket money has been settled by the parent's assembly as follows: Pupils in the 5th to 7th grade receive 6.00 Euros, the pupils of the 8th-10th grades get 7.00 Euros. Only small private necessities, such as drinks, ice-cream etc. need to be paid for with the pocket money.

Pupils are not allowed under any circumstances more than 6 or 7 Euros with them on their return after the holidays or long weekends. Larger sums, bankbooks and piggy banks must be given to the head of the family to look after. The parents assume the responsibility according to clause 7 in the contract of admission that the pupil has in no way any other money at his / her disposal over and above that stated in the regulations without the Landschulheim knowing about it.

If, in a special case, the child needs money, it should be sent to the head of the family, and under no circumstances to the pupil him / herself. Therefore no money should be sent directly to the children during the school term, neither from the grandparents nor aunties either.
