If there is a long period of time between two holidays, the school has a long weekend in between. This long weekend begins on a Saturday and ends on a Tuesday or Wednesday evening at about 7.30 pm. That way those children whose parents live far away also have the opportunity to go home without rushing.
In case a pupil would like to go home on any other weekend, we would ask the parents to contact the boarding school.
Invitations from other pupils to visit them or to travel with them by car, even at the beginning of the holidays, requires written consent from both sets of parents - the pupils are not allowed to organize this themselves.
The lessons which do not take place because of the long weekend are compensated for by lessons on Saturdays. The family outdoor work, the distribution of the washing and the room tidying on Saturdays from 12.00pm onwards is obligatory. The children and youth are hereby drawn in to common housework. A sense of responsibility within the group is promoted.
At the weekends the pupils are trained to organize their own leisure time, therefore the amount of organized activities offered is deliberately kept to a minimum. From time to time activities such as open cross-country races are offered.
